People tell me to move to Austin all of the time because of the music and nightlife. So, I thought it was worth a stop to see what was going on, with my ultimate goal driving to San Antonio.

The Austin Capitol Complex and surrounding area were where I first stopped, and there was some terrific architecture at the complex. There was a fair amount of sculptures in the courtyard. I became aware that they were wary of visitors, and I returned to the car.

I did notice that some buildings were historic in the downtown area, and those buildings maintained the original street line, and all of the other buildings were set back 50 feet or so. So it was good that they left the original context of these buildings and did not try to move them or demolish them.
