I had been to Cambria before on vacation a few years ago, and it appeared to be somewhat impacted by the virus, but it was too early in the season to draw any real conclusions. There were vacancies, but for the most part, the town remained intact. It was like I remembered it.

Some of the second floors were vacant, and there was an area that sat back off the main road with significant vacancies. Some of the stores had inventory but were closed when I went to town during my stay.

I had a sit-down dinner in Lombardi’s, my favorite restaurant in Cambria. In many of the places in California, there was no indoor dining but instead strict mask mandates and take out only. Some of the other restaurants were like that but Lombardi’s accommodated indoor seating. I got a glass of wine and some pasta.

A family sitting across from me asked for my autograph. I was not sure why but I was polite and complied.

Cambria is a great town with a strong sense of place and a great shoreline located near the downtown.
