I had heard that Del Rio had issues in border access and thought that it would be a good place to visit.
In Del Rio, I checked in at the Ramada because all the border police were staying at the hotel. It was not right downtown, but it was close.
Almost every downtown store was closed. There were serious signs of disinvestment and upheaval.
The area near the border bridge was had a closed supermarket, and there was a paper recycling area near a truck depot. The unfinished border wall was there, with the scaffolding left to remind everyone of the incomplete construction project.
You can walk over to the bridge, but I spent more time by the wall.
