Racine probably had an elevated number of vacancies based on what they normally have downtown. The town has a great historic building stock, and most, if not, all have been well maintained. In addition, there is a conversion of a firehouse to a museum that is particularly well done.

There were very few people on the street. There is a great park near the lake with great landscaping, and it seemed to amplify the fact that there were no people at all. There were businesses open, and the retail mix was very good, but I did not see many people going into those businesses.

I thought that the streetscape and the general upkeep of the town were well done. However, I like molded brick rather than pavers, and I prefer lights closer to the ground.
