A major expansion of the downtown must have been completed during or right before the virus. There were thousands of feet of vacancies. The buildings looked new, like frozen in time with many vacant ground-floor retail storefronts.
There was not much going on in the traditional downtown with the Cascade Theater closed and very few businesses open. However, there was some nice transitioning between the new development and the older section of downtown.
The City Hall had a nice fountain and a very nice sculpture garden. Unfortunately, the City Hall was not located in the central business district.
