Salem was mostly boarded or closed, except for one store that was a one-level Family Dollar general department store. The library and a pharmacy were there, but they were not open. Iam sure that there was more commerce near the college, but this appeared to be the center oftown at one point.
I was only there for 15 minutes, and there was a little bit of traffic at the Family Dollar, but itwas a ghost town for the most part.
