I tried to park, and it was pretty closely monitored in all of the strip centers that constitute the downtown. I got out of my car a couple of times, but it was an inconvenient parking situation in each case. I believe they are looking for a visit the town to be related to fees and capturing money.
I know people like the town, but I have to label it the worst place I visited. I believe it is to drain your pocketbook and provides nothing special except the mountains. Which some may think is worthy of a visit.
There are tourist areas for hiking and taking pictures of the mountains, but they require a trail pass, and others have onerous arrangements.
