I decided to concentrate my time in Tucson in the historic district. The Historic 4th Avenue District was a great place. The district had large building murals and wide-ranging arts component. There was one mural that I would rank as on of the best I saw on my trip. It was so intricate and so connected from one image to another that I spent maybe 15 minutes just looking at it and photographing the components.

There is a large Tiki Head statue in the downtown which provides a landmark and enhances the sense of place on the 4th Avenue strip. The outdoor dining scene was thriving even during the lockdown. People dining on the street and not a whole lot of mask wearing.

The thing that I noticed most was the concentration of art and sculpture along the strip. There were some vacancies but it did not appear that there were too many and some of them had window art to make the walking past vacant storefront transition enjoyable.
